Pay Later Payments
Pay Later Orders
Should you provide the Option for Customers to pay for their Bill towards the end of their visit, you can select the 'Pay Later' option. For this Tutorial, we will follow our Order through the Pay Later process.
1. You will find the Pay Later option towards the bottom of your screen. Select this option to send the Order to your staff and your Dines Dashboard.
2. You will now notice the Order has disappeared from your EPOS Dashboard, ready for you to take the next order. You can access the Order on your Dines Dashboard or by selecting Orders on your EPOS Dashboard.
3. Our Order will automatically be sent to the Live tab. The Order continues through the usual order flow on your Dashboard. Click on the Order to review it.
4. Once you or your Team Member has fulfilled the Order, select Order away from either your EPOS Dashboard or the Dines Dashboard.
5. Now that the Order is away and with your Customers, the Order will now automatically move to the 'Settle Bills' tab.
The Order Number and Table Number are displayed clearly to make finding the Order easy when your Customers are ready to pay.
6. Clicking on the Order will bring up a quick review and from there, select Settle Payments in EPOS.
7. You will then see a tab in the top right corner, alerting you the Order is ready to be paid for in your EPOS Dashboard.
8. Going back to your EPOS Dashboard, click 'Settle Bills' to find the Order.
9. From here, you will see Bills that are still awaiting payment. Click on the 'Pay Later Orders' tab and select the Order.
10. Once you have selected the Order, you'll see the total amount. You can charge the full amount or split the bill. See below for more information on this and completing transactions
Splitting a Payment
Should your customers wish to Split a Payment between the table, rather than pay the full amount in one go, select the button Split next to the total amount.
This will then display the most common ways to Split the bill. Select the 'X Ways' you need, then Charge Card.
If your customer wishes to pay a different amount, tap the pencil/edit icon next to the Order value.
Here, you can see how much is left to pay, and enter the amount below. Click Charge Card to charge the customer £5.70.
Completing the Transactions
As an example, we are going to complete this transaction as if Customers are paying individually.
Hand your card reader to your Customer to complete their side of the transaction. You can choose to cancel on the Dashboard in the Pending box or by pressing 'X' on your reader.
This Customer wishes to pay the £5.70 of the transaction.
Once their payment is processed, you will be taken back automatically to the 'Take Payment' screen. Let's complete this transaction by taking payment for the remaining £10.95.
You can see details of the first Split payment is shown below.
As before, hand over the card reader and then click Charge Card. When taking any payment, you will see that the payment is authenticating, as shown below.
Now the Order is fully paid for, you can thank your Customers and click Done to continue serving other people!
