How do I create & manage Menu Categories?
Getting started
Before you start, check out this short glossary to familiarise yourself with the fields in this section:
- Category Name - help customers navigate your menu and understand each section with clear titles.
- Position - number Categories to order them in your Menu. Categories with the same number (or no number) are listed alphabetically.
- Description - explain why these items are grouped together in a Category. You could highlight availability, dietary information, or perhaps preparation information.
- Display Times - show or hide Categories based on the time of day/day of the week (learn more about Timed Categories).
- Enabled - Categories are enabled by default. Disabled Categories appear in a separate list at the bottom of your Inventory (learn more about Stock Management).
Step by step: create a Menu Category
Step 1 - From the Inventory tab of your Dashboard, tap 'Add new category' in the top right corner
Step 2 - Complete the relevant fields (descriptions above) and tap 'Create'.
Manage Menu Categories
Step 1 - From the Inventory tab of your Dashboard, tap 'Update category' next to the category you wish to edit.
Step 2 - All fields can be edited as before, so make the changes you need to and tap 'Update' to save them instantly.
