Dines provides the tools to be able to accept Table Service orders and payments from any on-premise location.

Step-by-step: how to manage Table Orders

Step 1 - New Table Service Order received

When a new Table Service order is received, the order will appear in the 'New' orders tab of your partner dashboard. The card will state that the order is an 'Eat-in' order.

Don't forget, you can always filter your orders by Order Type to help isolate orders for Table Service by selecting 'To Location'.

Step 2 - Accept Table Service Order

Orders will contain information about: 
  • Items ordered
  • Special requests
  • Details of any additional Service Charges/Transaction Fees applied to the bill
  • and details of which location the order needs to be taken too (e.g. which table/room)
When a new order has been received from a customer, the payment for that order has already been pre-authorised (so funds are on hold in the customer's account) and when the order is accepted the funds are captured - you don't need to worry about whether the payment has gone through!
Your team will need to review the items ordered to ensure that the order can be serviced:
  • if the order can be serviced they simply hit 'Accept'. The customer is notified when the order has been accepted and the order moves to the 'Live' tab.
  • if the order cannot be serviced they simply hit 'Can't make this order?' and you will be given the opportunity to reject the order and provide a reason to the customer.
If you have set up a printer, you will also have the ability to print an order manually or to have the printer automatically print orders when you accept them.  Learn more about printers here.

Step 3 - Prepare the order to be served

Your team will then proceed to prepare the items to be served to the customer. Once the order has been prepared, the team will take the order to the customer and hit the 'Order Away' button to mark the order as Complete. If, at any point, an accepted order cannot be serviced they simply hit 'Can't make this order?' and you will be given the opportunity to cancel/refund the order and provide a reason to the customer.

View a table's history

You can view any table's history on your Dines Dashboard in a couple of taps.

Wherever it is in the process (New, Live, Prepared, or Past Orders), you can view the table's history. The order just needs to have the 'eat in' label on the card:

Click the card to open the order details and you'll see a 'Table History' button on the right-hand side. Click this for an overview of all orders ever served to this table. 

Here, you can click on any order in the list to see its details as if you were in the Past Orders section of the Dashboard.
