How do we prevent getting overwhelmed by Collection orders?

Let customers know when a Collection slot is busy

You can use a 'Soft Limit' on Collection Orders which will display to customers that you have received a large number of orders in that slot. 

For example, if you set a Soft Limit of 2 orders, if you receive 2 orders in the same Collection slot, that slot will appear as 'busy' to the customer at the time of ordering. 


Let customers know that a Collection slot is unavailable as too many orders have been received

Add a 'Hard Limit' on Collection Orders to ensure limit the number of orders that can be received for each Time Slot. 
For example, if you set a Hard Limit of 4 orders, if you receive 4 orders for the same Collection slot, that slot will appear as 'unavailable' to customers at the time of ordering and will prevent the 5th order from being made.

Give yourself a bit more breathing room by increasing Turnaround Time

Is your team struggling due to a particularly high number of orders, or perhaps you're short-staffed? 

You can increase the Collection Turnaround time at any point and this will increase the amount of time you have to prepare each Collection order.

Reduce the number of Collection slots

Are you finding that your team is regularly receiving more Collection orders than they can handle? 

Why not increase the Collection Slot Interval and thus decrease the number of Collection slots available each hour? 

This ensures that orders are placed across less frequent time slots. You can combine this with tighter Collections Limits to reduce the number of Collection orders received per time slot.
