Can I add a fee to Delivery orders?

Getting started

Once you have enabled Delivery you can find the Delivery Fee and Small Order Fee settings in your Dashboard under Settings > Ordering > Order Fees / Delivery.

Add a Delivery Fee

To ensure that your Deliveries are viable, you can add a Delivery Fee to orders made through Dines.

Delivery Fees are a fixed £ amount that is added to every Delivery order.

Once set up, the Delivery Fee is mandatory for any customer ordering for Delivery and cannot be opted-out from.

Add a Small Order Fee

Sometimes, customer orders are too small to make them viable for Delivery. That's why we introduced the Small Order Fee - to ensure that every Delivery is worth making.

To enable a Small Order Fee, you simply need to set a Minimum Order Amount in your Delivery settings.

If the total value of an Order (excluding Delivery Fees) is less than the Minimum Order Amount, a small order fee will be added to ensure that the Minimum Order Amount is met.

For example: If a basket of items to be ordered for Delivery is £8.00 and the Minimum Order Amount is £10.00 - a Small Order Fee of £2.00 will be applied.

What if I have an active Discount Code?

If a customer has applied an active Discount Code to a Delivery order, the Small Order Fee is calculated as the Minimum Delivery Value less the Discounted Basket Value.
For example: If a basket of items to be ordered for Delivery is valued at £8.00 (at full price), but a discount is applied which deducts a further £2.00 and the Minimum Delivery Amount is £10.00 - a small order fee of £4.00 (£10.00 - £6.00) will be applied.

Don't forget that you can decide if a Discount Code can be applied to a Delivery order or not - read more to find out how here.
